Andrea Downing

In the midst of pressure to be conformed to the image of this world, Andrea Downing is a voice within the Body of Christ challenging God’s people to discover their uniqueness as individuals and as members fitted for ministry.  Her engaging manner and warm presentation of God’s grace and power have endeared her to many.  Whether teaching or counseling, she ministers the Word of God with vulnerability, clarity, simplicity and humor, that invites the Lord’s work of wholeness in lives.

In 1972 she became part of the staff of The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, California and continued on that staff for over 16 years as a Pastoral Counselor and speaker/teacher.  Also, during that time she traveled the country ministering at retreats and meetings.

In 1995 Andrea and her husband Jim began attending Glendale Presbyterian Church in Glendale, California.  They were there until 2000 sitting under the astute and exciting pastorate of Darrell W. Johnson (currently part of the faculty of Regent College in Vancouver, B.C.). During that time Andrea taught the Women’s Bible Study.

Her love of the Lord and desire for His people to see Him as He is has compelled her to continually teach Bible studies through the intervening years. She and her sister, Lynn Moffett, currently teach the Hats Bible Study course, seeing people come to understand their purpose in the Body of Christ.

Andrea and her husband, Jim, have been married since 1958. Pagosa Springs, Colorado has been their home since the summer of 2000.  Andrea has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren; she loves being a wife, mother & grandmother, but most of all she loves being a daughter of the King.

From early in her life, Lynn has been involved in music, in choirs as well as individual performances.  Though her taste in music is eclectic, her greatest desire is to go past performance, past praise as demonstrated in the excitement of declarations, dance, and banners, to intently seek the face of the Lord.  Her ambition is to lead others into a more intimate, more passionate love affair with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Since 1999 , Lynn has been an integral part of the worship ministry at Restoration Fellowship in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  And she has been co-teaching the Hats Bible study with her sister, Andrea Downing, since 2003.

Lynn lives in Pagosa Springs where she settled in 1998, without the advantage of family or friends, as a direct result of a vision she experienced in 1996. In prior years she was involved on a regional and local level of  AGLOW International, including administration, teaching Bible Studies and leading worship. For eight years she was on staff at The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, CA working in children's ministry, including teaching elements of true worship to children age four through twelve.

She has authored several hard hitting Christian novels including an historical trilogy.

For over twenty years, Lynn was a stay-at-home mom.  She has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Since then, she has worked in the accounting field for both architects and contractors.  She owns her own computer accounting company, and has spent several years on the staff at a small school for early childhood education.

Lynn received Jesus as Savior at age 4, but truly made Him Lord of her life upon discovering the Baptism with the Holy Spirit at age 27.
